Pewsey Vale Station waiting rooms now have a lovely exhibition of U3A photography. This has been co-ordinated by the Arts Society. The waiting rooms are open during the week until 12 midday.
Beyond the Bayeux Tapestry | Discover London's Outstanding Museums

Join us on Thursday 22 October 2026 for an exclusive Arts Society coach visit, stopping outside The British Museum.
This is not a guided tour but an opportunity to spend the day exploring the Bloomsbury area, with the added convenience of a luxury coach dropping you directly outside the British Museum. If you did not secure tickets to the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition, you may choose to view one of the Museum’s other famous treasures— such as the Rosetta Stone—enjoy a drink or meal in one of its many cafés, or indulge in Afternoon Tea at the Great Court Restaurant. Two of my favourite museums in London are just a short walk away and are well worth a visit.
Less than a mile from the British Museum, Sir John Soane's Museum is one of London's hidden gems. The former home of the celebrated architect Sir John Soane, it is a wonderfully atmospheric museum, filled with an extraordinary collection of antiquities, paintings, sculptures and architectural curiosities.
Just under two miles away, on Manchester Square, is The Wallace Collection. Housed in the magnificent Hertford House, this outstanding national museum boasts one of the world's finest collections of 18th-century French art, Old Master paintings—including Frans Hals' The Laughing Cavalier—as well as spectacular arms and armour. Its current exhibition includes a display of paintings by Sir Winston Churchill.
If you wish to venture further, the Museum is within easy walking distance of numerous restaurants, shops, and other cultural attractions: Covent Garden (20 minutes walk), the beautiful Fitzrovia Chapel (12 minutes walk), or travel via Tottenham Court Road underground station (5 minutes walk).
